    Hey V,

The most exciting news is that Dick has his coral grow out facility up and running!

Ive seen his utube introductions, yet to see the old man for an update first hand though.

How you been though?, keeping the home fires cranking it seems.

Dependant on work and future living arrangements (Planning to work the long lining boat's pretty soon) I'll consider setting up another tank once things hit a rhythm and I know whats happening.
In the mean time, I guess I'll bring myself up to speed on most of the new developments. Apisto keeping sorta died in the @ss, beautiful fish, just doesn't have the same thrills I found.
Also in sept Australian bio security laws are changing regarding importation, which is going to effect a whole wad of interests down here. Its not looking real flash!

It got real quiet around here a couple months back. Dont know why. For some reason I stopped getting e-mail notifications when someone responded to a thread i was subscribed to. So now I gotta spend a lot more time searching for responces...which I gotta say is a big turn off. I've gone into my settings and in the subscribed threads section there is boxes for instant notification, I check it, leave the page and come back and they are all unchecked. Anyone else have this issue? Figured it was a problem on my end but if it's a TR thing then it would make sence that people dont chime in when they dont know there is anything new to talk about. TR is the first and best forum I joined and would love to see it get back to where it was and more.

V, we need you around here to keep things livened up! I am working on my Master's degree. Between that and the fact that my hubby was laid off and funds were tight I haven't made any real changes or additions to my tanks. Hubby finished his degree in in bio-pharmaceutical engineering and had a new job that he really likes. It isn't easy to go back to school and change careers at 50. I'm proud of him, he did his degree with straight A's and has gotten in with the company he really wanted to work for!

I haven't heard from FW in a really l-o-n-g time. I am worried about him. He hasn't checked in here and my emails bounce back.

I'll ask Rob to check on the notifications thing for you Bob. I check new posts every time I come to the site so I don't subscribe to any threads.

Yea! Congrats to that, for both you and your family carmie.

Ok fair enough, thanks for the response. I'll try my best to maintain the appearance also, as I mentioned earlier though, things may change quickly for me by chasing the money. Unless im running satellite internet, connection could be a problem between visits.

Till then, lets run a muck!

Out in the ocean somewhere - long line fishing.
I dont know whats scarier, being that far out that waves are assigned a category or being couped up on a ship with nothing but men for that long

Ive got plenty of questions about the whole experience, however its one of those things that its literally a voyage of personal discovery. One Q thats at the top of the list though - How to avoid splash back when using the loo in choppy conditions? lol

Its a cool million for the boat, so suspecting quite a large one capable of decent stretches. 65ft plus Id say easy. I guess it depends on weather, how quickly you fill the hull ect ect.
I'll be going with mates, which have an understanding of what to expect due to years of experience with the ocean.

Me on the other hand, the only thing I know as fact......i'll have my head over the side just as much as within. The rest i'll be taking a crash course so to speak, but when I land the first tuna among other things thats longer than I am, well then I guess being a human tap wont seem that bad!
If youve watched the Biggest Catch on pay tv, you'll get an idea. Irronicly on that show there is family members of the bloke that's buying the new rig. So ive already seen documented accounts of what it can be like. 70km line setting cant be for the faint hearted shorely?

It takes a special breed to do that kind of job. I just wonder how long it will be before there is 50 pound tuna in your bathtub..lol

Yeah you may be right, not even sure how i'll really like it till I experience it. My best mate is definitely trying to sell it, he said even down to sunrises and sunsets, or given glass conditions and a full moon, its just an experience all to itself.

Totally irony, go from keeping and saving em, to hooking and spearing em. - but im trying not to look at it from that angle or else I wouldn't do it.

I just love the still shot of that asian on the vid, like he just saw Jaws.

That's exactly what I would be doing if I hadn't destroyed my body. I used to be 10 ft tall and bullet proof when I was SOBER, that would have been a perfect job for me.
