Kodak Easyshare Z981 Its a mega zoom camera 26x optical zoom. Was going to buy an SLR but there still a little out of my budget wait another year and see if the price comes down some more

It takes nice pictures. Does it have much shutter lag?

I don't know if digital SLR's will come down much in price unless you maybe got an old model on clearance. Instead of dropping in price they are adding features and megapixels. My 2nd digital SLR cost more than my first but I went from the bottom of the consumer line to the top of it. However, the cost of the bottom of the line camera had not changed at all in 4 years.

well my old m753 point and shoot shutter speed was 4–1/1400 sec. new camera z981 is 16 - 1/2000 sec.. I know one thing when i push the button all the way down it takes the picture pretty fast cause before i would push the button down and the fish would have the time to swim out of the picture or whatever i was taking a picture of. Not like with this camera my naso never stops moving and i can get a good picture of him everytime even when he is moving.

That's great. It is really frustrating when you miss a shot while you are waiting for the camera to think.
