My maroon routinely bites hard enough to draw blood.

They are usually a little nicer. Does she have eggs somewhere?

My strategy it to always keep one eye on the clown and never get my hands too close to the BTA!

I'm glad you clown has laid off, but it always surprises me when peeps wonder why they get bitten by their clownfish after they get a bit of age and size on them...they are, after all, nothing but nasty little damsels in fancy pajamas.

I've kept two clowns (at the insistence of the kids), different species, several years apart, and they were both nasty. I got rid of them both for that very reason, and will never keep one again. I'll stick with all of my venomous fish, thank you very much (at least they don't bite).

To be honest, the fish we keep are about a docile and tame as they come as long as you don't fit into their mouth (true of most fish) or accidentally put your hand on them.

They really don't deserve to be lumped into the "aggressive fish" category.

Could you do this with a nasty fish?

my ocellaris clown fish has jumped out of the water trying to attack me. but my anemone got sucked into one of my powerheads and died now she is as nice as can be. im waiting for my Rose Bubble tip to split in my 90 so i can give them another anemone. I always worn heavy duty gloved when i had to put my hands in there. I feel really bad for them cause they are still looking for there anemone i hope it splits soon. ocellaris clowns are nothing compared to the rath of a maroon clown i have on of those to
