Hey averagejoe. I was reading ur posts and I see u have a pretty nice set up. I also have a 34g cadiff loaded with corals. I am not sure if u installed ur chiller but I am using. 1/13hp chiller in mine and water stays @78 degrees I thing ur 1/10 should be fine just plug in a heater. What I did was use a maxi jet and drilled a hole near the top off bottles and put the pump for chiller and I put the return line near skimmer. I've had the tank for about 2 years .I'm also from nj so you can add me. I will try to come on more often. Clown fishes are nice but what til urs start mating. U will be super excited. But unfortunately they will die because of the way tank is designed If you are lucky u can catch a few when they hatch and try to raise them. Well happy reefing good luck and u can Im me if u have questions. I've learnt alot from every one on talkingreef and carmie is great Good luck

Hey carmie. Everything is great so far how about u. Hope u are enjoying ur tank as much as I'm enjoying mine.I finally got some time to get back on forum. I've made some changes to my tank . Lost my cleaner shrimp so sad. I think the clown fish ate him for a snack because I change their food and didn't notice they weren't eating it .also they ate my peppermint shrimp. Boo hoo. But the corals are growing out of control I will soon post some pics as soon as I clean off the purple coraline algea .I've broken all the rules of keeping a nano tank and I must say it's been very successful. Had my tank 2 years now and lost one hammer coral and I had no idea about reefs. But thanks to ur advice I'm able to keep my reef happy. Well hope all is well with u and family enjoy ur day. I need help identifying this coral it has split and I think it will split again will post pic later

That is a little weird about the shrimp. It doesn't sound like typical clown behavior.

Joe, I am looking froward to seeing new pictures!

I've got the same problem. More trees than I know what to do with. If there is a local reef club that hosts frag swaps you might be able to get rid of some. Or craigslist might get rid of a few. In the last year I flushed more tree and xenia frags than you can imagine. It just sucks to know that at 10 bucks a piece I could have bought a crazy nice light fixture with whats sitting in my septic tank.

There is no elevator to success in marine tanks. You have to take the stairs.

the red mushrooms and green striped mushrooms just got a couple of days ago. running to lfs to pick up plugs or disk going to frag my plusing xenia, and my taro tree. any close to kearny nj looking to start a reef aquarium or dont have either one let me know. i would gladly let you take a couple. as u can see in the picture the xenia is out of control and the taro tree keeps showing up around the tank.
