    here is silicon oozing out

you can see the bumpers through the glass, these are 1/8" thick so the silicon should be that thickness all the way around,

I temporarily installed my top to make sure everything stays square until the silicon sets, thin I'll mount it permanently

its half full and no leaks yet,I'll leave it like this for a few days then fill it on up,if no leaks develop....my silicon was cured on the inside and the outside but its probably still not in the center of the gasket, but to my understanding, the moisture helps with the curing....

I have worked all day cleaning the excess silicon off,I knew I didn't want the front to be blue,I am planning on trimming it with oak,so I went to wally world and found some brown textured spray paint,I think it will look good with oak trim...after sanding the frame a little and some more cleaning,I painted the frame....here are some pics
I had a piece of oak so I threw it in the pics for comparison

    what do y'all think

after the brown paint dried,I ran a bead of silicon around the glass again.....

here is some of my mess,I'm not sure how I'm gonna plumb it yet...so its just temporary right now,I had in mind to run 1 of the over flow drains split between my skimmer and fuge and the other drain as a safety, but with the little giant running, both drains are running almost full,so I'm thinking I may feed the skimmer and fuge with a tee off the little giant......my durso's work great...I think I might need to raise 'em a little, the waterfall you see in the pics is noisy

I finally added baffles to my sump,I hope the silicon will hold acrylic to the epoxy paint, when the water pressure is on it....it feels like it will hold good

I also added a piece of acrylic for my float valve to mount to

I put the silicon on really heavy hoping it will hold better,we'll see tomorrow

I have built a temporary light rack to raise my lights with.........with all 4 MH's on,you can tell the center 2 lights are brighter than the 2 outer lights by the cross brace shadow.....the outer lights are using the odyssea ballasts and the original supposed to be 12k bulbs(more like 10k) ,the center lights are using the lumatek ballasts and the pheonix 14k bulbs

but at least,my lights are spread out more evenly now over the tank

here's with all 4 halides before and after lowering the lights

I think, after I replace the 2 outer bulbs and ballasts with the same that the inner 2 have,I'll be set for lighting
