    My monti eating nudibrach

Well I did not take the time to take pictures of this little menace to show you. The good news is I only saw 1 of them. Kinda hard to miss white nudibrach on an orange encrusting monti. I prob never would have noticed him if it wast for me doing some shuffling in the QT today, and thank go for my QT. Probably would have never nocited this happening without it.

I did a coral dip on my monti then used a toothbrush to scrub all of the white areas of the dead coral he got his hands on to. Going to have to pay real close attention to this one to make sure none of his family appears over the next few days. I blew the rest of the underside of the coral out with a 30 ML syringe which i hope got rid of all of the others that may have been in there.

Any other suggestions that I may do?

    Thanks
    Bobby

Look for eggs on the coral, especially the bottom side. I have read that coral dips will kill or at least stun the adults so that you can blow them off with a turkey baster but that they don't touch the eggs. I've also read that you may be able to kill the eggs with potassium permangenate but I don't know anyone who has ever tried it.

Thanks Carmie. I did scrub really well the bottom side of the coral as well as those areas it was clearly eating. I did not see any eggs at all.

That is good. The eggs are very tiny so I'd keep a sharp eye out for more adults. Use a flashlight to check after lights out.

Oh and I think that i found a yellow turbinia cup coral growing on the underside of the monti, very much so alive. I must say that for the nudibrach being a bad hitchhiker finding the coral was a plus.

Just as an update. Looks like that nudi was a loner, or so I hope. Only found 1 adult, then clean everything very well maybe a little too well in spots. But once I am sure that there are no babies going to pop up, I am going to cut those sections off.
