What is it? Growth on my LR

I can't get a pic of this growth but its really cool. I just wonder if it is a plant or a coral. This is a pic but you have to look closely. It's in the center area in the indentation.

    http://www.talkingreef.com/forums/me...bums-what.html

I was moving my LR in my tank.. I haven't settled on the placement yet but I'm getting there. HE HE hee.

Any way.... I have a really cool transluant trupet shaped growth on my LR that will retract when you get near it. It draws itself in and virtually disappears... poof! After a few minutes it opens back up and just waves in the current.

It is a very pale green but as I say it is almost see through. Also it is not in a cluster..at least not yet.

Does anyone know what this is and do I want this in my tank or is it a bad guy? All the LR in the tank is a week old. So I am still finding things growing and walking aboutin the dark. I am a nuub as well so I don't want a devil spawn in the tank if I can avoid it.

So How do I get rid of this? Do I pinch it off or is this something a certain fish will kill off? I think I read a Yellow Tang get rid of these, is that right?

How big is it? Looks like a feather duster to me. A filter feeder and good hitchhiker.

Its about a nickel size when open. Maybe a lttle less.

It doesn't look like any of the aptasia I've seen in pics. Most of those tend to be brown or red and much more defined tenticles to me.

I thought feather duster as well.. or hoped any way.

Sounds like a "baby" mushroom to me. Trumpet shaped and translucent.

I was gonna ask if they procreate or spawn some how. I found a second one today, the size of a child's pinky finger. It was close to the first one. They are kinda cool.

There is no elevator to success in marine tanks. You have to take the stairs.

I was thinking of buying a few more colorful dusters, I see some reds and stuff for sale. they seem easy to grow. add a little color to the tank.

I am kinda partial to those myself. If you have a refugium buy some chaeto, it is always loaded with feather dusters.
