Tube Anenome question

so I needed to rearrange my rock, when I set my tank up I did not put in enough caves and I hade clowns fighting eith everyone for the one large cave i did have....

when I went to move my tube anenome I ripped his tube and he lost most of it, do they grow their tubes back or is he a gonner???? he is open now and he did eat , and stung my poor shirmp a time or two but I would hate to lose him after all we have been though...he suvived all of the horrible nitrite / nitrite spikes my new tank went through so Don and I are good friends ..well at least till tonight

I imagine if he is open and eating he should be alright. Is he stuck to a rock or floating?

The Tube Anemone’s “tube” is made up of mucus that they secrete. They are normally found in mud bottoms and the mud/sand and other stuff sticks to the mucus forming the tube. He should be fine and will have a new tube in a few weeks.

I figured as much but I could not find anything for sure on the net , I did bury what was left of his tube in a shadowy area and Don has been up and open so I am glad he will be ok he is the only anenome I have.
