Raymond's 30 Gallon mixed reef tank!

Hey everyone, since my 10 gallon tank was causing me problems with evaporation, I had to upgrade and it helped a lot that my family bought this 30 gallon for me for my B - day. Right now I need a skimmer and a better water pump for better water circulation that I am working on getting.

Here is a picture of the tank when I first set it up.

Here is the tank a month and a half later when the cycle was done and I added my corals and clowns.

Here is some pictures of my corals in the new tank.

    Picture continued

Here is the corals I chose when I went to my local clubs frag swap. An orange cap, a couple zoas, a mushroom that I forgot the name of, and a blue arco.

Here is a picture with my clowns in my green brain coral.

The watermelon ones are pretty cool. The red ones I wouldn't call a frag...more like a mini colony. Good score

    Talking Update with Pics

So its been a while since I updated my thread with sports and school it has been heck-tic lately. My tank is doing great except I have gotten an aiptaisia outbreak, I have been trying to kill them off with no luck so I may have to try and get a small group of peppermint shrimp to see it that may help. Here is a FTS and some pics of my coral.

    My frogspawn and clowns

My mushroom which has split since my last update. =)

Some Zoe's which have grown quite a bit too

Looks awesome Ray. The birdsnest is growing like crazy. I'm thinking I need a couple myself. Everything in my tank is soft and mushy and the "stick" look would break that up a lot. I noticed you haven't been around as much lately. Keep focused on your schoolwork and we'll still be here after you get straight A's...lol

what kind of lights are you using. love the bird's nest and frogspawn. i want to get them but i have a jbj nano cube cf quad dont know if my lights are strong enough. it is 105w. 2 lamps contain 10,000k white daylight and the other 2 are 7100k blue actinic and it has 4 led moonlights.

Frogspawn and birdsnest should do fine with those lights. The frogspawn will be fine even on the bottom of the tank but the birdsnest will be happier if you keep it higher in the tank. If it was my tank I would replace one of the actinic lights with a 20K bulb. Actinic don't provide much in the way of PAR. A 20K light is also blue but provides more light that your corals can use.

All clownfish start out life as unsexed juveniles and become male when they mature. The dominate fish changes from male to female. When the female dies the most dominate male changes to female.
