Neat looking clowns Dick!!
These are one of the rarest clownfish in the industry. I was in the right place at the right time. Well, sort of anyway.
I have a friend in the business in CA that e-mailed these were available. I called and was the first to claim them. They arrived today.
They are in the aquaculture facility and hard to photograph due to no side view. Only pics from above. They came from the Solomon Islands. All three are picking up pellet food put in the tank for the hermits and snails. They also ate some fortified BS and picked at Mysis.
Now to find a dedicated, successful breeder to pass them on to.

Great looking fish. I hope you find a great breeder for them!

Cool. They look huge. How big do they get?
They are bigger than I pictured in my mind when I ordered them. According to Fautin and Allen’s great book on clownfish, “Anemone Fishes and Their Host Sea Anemones”, page 86, “Maximum length about 90mm”. Converted that would be about 3.5”. I would say one is 3+” another 2.75+” and the smallest about 2.5”. The general thinking on A. leucokranos is they are a hybrid between A. chrysopterous and A. sandaracinos. That hybridization also applies to A. thiellei, according to this same source.
They are good eaters, taking BS, Mysis and chopped Silversides all fortified with Boyd’s Vita-Chem. Now to find a serious breeder.
Here they are together looking up stream waiting for food.
They are not very shy, as long as I don’t make any quick moves.

The clowns have settled so well that today I slowly submersed my camera and got some underwater pics. Not being able to see the viewing screen, this is what I got.
While they scurried way from their LR and PVC cover, they were not particularly frightened. After these shots they fed on flake, pellet food, and the usual mix stated above.
These are exceptional clowns for WC.
Enjoy.

Very nice Dick! We have 2 semi-local breeders who are very successful. I can put you in touch if you're having trouble finding anyone.
