Looking at Sprung's "Algae" book, it might be Nitophyllum.
I have no clue what type of algae this is. When I purchased the snail the local FHS thought the algae wouldn't grow, but seems to be growing quite well on the snail. It hasn't propigated anywhere else. I call the snail Don King due to his haircut.

I don't know but it sure is funny looking. Maybe you could sell it for a lot more than you bought it for due to its peculiar look.

An aquarium member from another forum has found the algae. It looks like it is a Corallina officinalis Linnaeus

That is interesting as it seems to grow on rocky shores mostly in the north Atlantic. By the way, the name of the algae is Corallina offiicinalis. Linnaesus is the classification system.

It hadn't spread untill this past week. Now it is showing up on my koralia powerhead and the return from the pump. Both high in the tank.
I wonder if it is beneficial or not.
Thanks for the classifacation correction.
I'd keep an eye on it but as long as it doesn't grow out of control I wouldn't imagine it would hurt. It is calcareous so keep an eye on your Ca level.

Came home tonight to find my origional yasha goby with its head stuck in a hole. It has gotten larger and more aggressive with the other yasha. It couldn't release itself so I had to help. Hope it will do ok. Swimming ok, just don't know if it's eyesight is ok. Watch and see...
That is wild!
