    Aiptasia

I was just wondering what you guys thought about solutions to aiptasia problems.
I don't have a massive infestation, but there is quite a few and they're growing. I've seen multiple solutions to getting rid of them. And mixed reviews on each product. I was wondering what you guys have found the most successful or effective for yourselves.
The tank is only a 12 gallon nano cube. And I've heard lemon juice is great, but needs to be done carefully so it doesn't effect the pH.
    Thanks so much.

I just use a brand from LFS called aptasia control, works weel, I ve heard great things about Joes Juice but have never tried it. I remember back to the days on this site when I felt bad about dosing my first one!! Wish I had done it sooner, I thought it was so cute...NOT!

I use Joe's Juice and find it works well. Peppermint shrimp will often eat small aiptasia but you will have to hit large ones with Joe's Juice or similar. I have tried to use kalkwasser and it works if you can actually get it on the anemone. But the aiptasia do not readily eat it like they do the Joe's Juice and so they just retreat into their hole instead.

I think my peppermints are too well fed to eat them!! who knows, maybe they would be more numerous if not for the shrimp!

Thanks you guys! I haven't been on the forum for a while...
But yeah, I totally want to go natural. So I will be purchasing a peppermint soon. But I want to get rid of the bigger ones that the shrimp won't eat. I've heard mixed reviews about Joe's Juice, but if everyone here is having good results with it, I can give it a try.

    I use two things:
    peppermint shrimp (so, so)
Mrs. Wages Pickling Lime- just mix a teaspoon or two with ro water to make a paste like wasabi sauce, cheap as hell! (kalk paste). Use a plastic syringe.

I had an out break of those little suckers too. I got a Copperband Butterfly and he took care of the rest, and they are a really pretty fish imo. One of my favorites actually. Unfortunetely he wasn't a very powerful swimmer and got stuck to the side of my Vortech powerhead, by the time i notice and pushed him off "must of been 30-45 sec." he didn't recover... Now the aptasia is coming back, time to get a new fish!

Yeah tell me about it! I've lost two that got to close to the vortech powerheads... apparently they aren't very strong swimmers

Aw. I would love a copperbanded butterfly, but I don't think I could ever afford to get a tank large enough for one. Beautiful fish though.
