Do you have an e-book reader?

I am considering buying an e-book reader. Have you used one? If so, which brand and model? Would you buy an e-reader again? Would you get the same one or another? How does it compare to reading a printed book? Do you get headaches from the e-reader?

I am a big reader and recently decided I would rather not buy printed books any more.
After research, I chose an iPod touch instead of just a reader.
For me this made more sense. I can use my Bluetooth to listen to
music while at the gym as well as read on it.
I am using it now to respond.

I don't have an e-book reader ether but Rhonda has a point. The I pod touches are awesome and you can do quite a bit on them especially with the apps.

The Ipod touch has a smaller screen than the Sony reader or the Kindle reader but you can increase the size of the print with a simple touch of the screen. I refused to buy an Ipod before the touch because I cannot stand to have a wire connecting me to a device. The touch has bluetooth capability and it is awesome. I have three bluetooths that I interchange so I am never without.

I was hesitant to spend the money because I wasn't sure I would like reading on a device, I love it!! It goes everywhere with me and the kids play games on it while waiting for dr appts and such.

I currently use Kindle Book Store and they do have some free books but the rest are priced about the same as a paperback book.

I have a similar reader app on my Hero and I like it because I always have a book in my pocket. Like using the computer though I get headaches if I use it to long. I only get headaches from reading books if it is under fluorescent light. IDK how it would work fo rme, but everyone says they don't get headaches from the e-ink technology.

I don't get headaches from reading on the Ipod touch but I can adjust the back light as needed. I could use my Blackberry in the same manner as well as use it for music but it drains the battery very quickly and I talk on the phone a lot so I need it charged!! LOL

I have also become addicted to playing Words with Friends on the Touch. As long as I am near my network or an unsecured network then I can play against others...

DH bought me the Nook for my b-day! We went to the Apple store and looked at the iPad too. It would be a really cool toy! But I think it is too big for me to hold comfortably and read. I'll let you know what I think of the Nook.

I've had various iPods for several years. I just bought the iPad (pre-ordered) specifically as an eBook reader. After a week, I am still _extremely_ pleased with it. Especially for technical (programming) material, this is definitely he way to go!

I too wanted the Ipad but after giving thought to the size of it, it was not practical for me as it won't fit in my purse.

I have no idea what a Nook is but congrats and now I will google it!!

It's definitely a backpack item, not purse friendly. It depends on what you need it for, and what you expect your pattern of use will be.

Hi Sue! How are you doing?

So far I like the Nook. The one disadvantage I see to it as a reader vs the iPad is no backlight. I am not one to read in bed because I would just stay up all night reading but I think it would be a nice feature. Of course the iPad does a lot more and like I said is a cooler toy.

Hey there! :-) I've been *hammered* at work! I've probably got over 20 books on the iPad, all ToRead NOW. All work related.

The tanks are OK. Some ugly algae in the BioCube but I think we're getting it. (Tuxedo urchins and maybe a long-spine urchin. )

Ditto on being nuts at work! I guess I am just glad to have a job though.

Haha, I am mostly growing algae in my nano right now.
