Please Support Me in Relay for Life

Cancer has impacted my life. It has claimed the lives of my dad,
grandfather, one uncle, two aunts and a close friend. My mother-in-law is a
cancer survivor, my uncle is battling lymphoma, a friend is fighting ovarian
cancer and another is recovering from surgery for cordoma. Unless you are
very fortunate your list is probably as long. This year, I am helping save
lives from cancer by taking part in the American Cancer Society Relay For
Life, and I’m hoping you will support me.

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is a life-changing event that
gives people across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who
have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the
disease. At Relay, teams of people camp out at a local high school, park, or
fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each
team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the
    event, because cancer never sleeps.

Relay For Life helps raise much-needed funds and awareness to help the
American Cancer Society save lives from cancer and create more birthdays.

Please support me in my efforts by visiting my personal web
    page<http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR/RelayForLife/RFLFY10SA?px=15044852&pg=personal&fr_id=24637>to
make a secure, tax-deductible online donation. Be sure to check out
the luminaria button. For a $10 donation you can remember a loved one who has
been lost to cancer or honor someone who is battling it.

    Thanks!
    Carmie

The American Cancer Society is the official sponsor of birthdays. Since today is my birthday it seemed like a good day to ask for you to support me in Relay for Life. Thanks!

I am both amazed and disappointed. Amazed because there are 4,605 members of TR while, 120 are “active” members. Yet, one of our most active members, CarmieJo, with 13,400 posts can only garner 2 members to step up to the plate and make a donation. That paltry participation blows my mind. It’s very disappointing!!!

Carmie willingly gives of her time and expertise to us for FREE DAY AFTER DAY!!! Where are the rest of you?

Sorry, if this cry for help disappoints you but this is ridiculous from people we consider “family”!!!

Happy Birthday Carmie and I am donating right now! I saw your post for the first time yesterday evening on Facebook but frankly was on my way to die from exhaustion. I took care of it just now. I hope it helps you toward your goal.

    Best of luck.

Thanks for your donation Rhonda. I think I get credit for monthly donations as long as they are made through my link. I will double check on Monday and let you know.

I’m totally aware of that Carmie. Cancer’s defeat should on all our minds and we should contribute more that once in a great while. One of my best friends has a daughter that is dying of cancer right now. She has been in the fight of her life for more than eight years. She is losing that fight. She is just 35 years old/young.

No thanks needed. I lost my Father to cancer in 2006.

I had cancer myself when I was 22, I will never say I "Beat" it because it always lurks in the shadows waiting to return. My Mom also had cancer when she was 31 and has remained free of it to date.

I will wait so you can get credit if possible - it would be kinda like double dipping for you! LOL

I am sorry that I can not donate due to no credit card at this time. I truly wish I could because I have had cancer grow through my family as well it took my grandma on one side and almost took my grandma on the other and we need this type of support to beat this bad disease. You have my full support from my heart and as soon as I get one of those one time use credit cards I will be donating that is for sure.

Ray - don't get in a hurry to acquire credit cards - that is one of those things that is better later in life!!

I have spent the last hour trying to figure out how to change my credit card on subscriptions on Paypal so Talking Reef can get their subscription money. The main credit card we use was hacked AGAIN and they had to change the account AGAIN and issue new numbers and cards.

Oh no I don't think I will ever get a real credit card but one of those one time use credit cards from a grocery store or something like that. I have used them before and they are pretty safe and keep your info very confidential. Then once I am done spending the money on them I cut it up and throw it away or scratch up the magnetic strip and use it for scrapping off the Coraline algae on my tank.

oh yeah, i second the motion to stall on the credit cards, My partner who's a decade younger than I doesn't have one, but still cant really imagine life without one. What do you mean we dont have enough cash, thats what those cards are for arn't they??? I like to call it hidden money.

You young bud, so no rush. Just for future reference only, there is Visa Debt, which acts like a credit card, although your still drawing from your own savings type account.

Donation sent. Wish I could do more but every little bit helps. I've been hit with a series of misfortunate events thats draining my savings to the point of puting my next tank on hold for a little while. I hope more of the TR family chips in to help you reach your goal.
