    Chiller for a Biocube 29

Should I get a chiller for a Biocube 29? I do live in Utah and yes, the summers are hot, but the winters are really cold too... Should I get a heater and a chillerr?

What are your temps without them? A heater is pretty much a must. The chiller will depend on the ambient temperature and what kind/how much lighting are over it.

I don't have a tank yet... i'm still in the planning phases and trying to get a list of everything I need...
I plan on getting a Biocube 29 HQI with a 150 watt MH lamp...

A heater is a must, even though the light heats the water (possibly too much) in the day it will cool at night The MH nanos run hot so you may need a chiller but there are a lot of variables so it is hard to say.

a week late, but IME, most "plug-n-play" setups run warm (80*) all on their own (i know...i have 4 of them), so i tend to not heat them at all unless i run a chiller. that way, the temp stays spot-on. then again, i live in coastal So. CA, so the ambient temps here are pretty constant.

i'd set the tank up and let it run. monitor the temp while it's cycling and see where you end up, then decide how to roll. if your tank is one of the models with an "open" filter section, you can try one of those C-breeze squirrel cage fans on it...they do a super job, but do keep tabs on your evaporation rate, as it will indeed go up.

Sorry the 2500 Model... Not the 1800... I'd like to make one of those DIY Tube fuges like was shown on the podcast and I want to plumb it right from the chille into the fuge then let it overflow back into the tank?
