unwanted mushrooms

I have discosoma that appear in unwanted places. Anyone know of ways to eliminate or "spot kill" these polyps. I usually cut off the head but they grow back. Thanks

Have you tried scraping them off from the foot? There are lots of newbies who would love to have them. If that doesn't work you could probably use Joe's Juice to kill them.

I have used a toothbrush with some success. Sometimes they`re down in a hole in liverock. Am reading up on kalkwasser paste injections with a syringe but haven`t tried it yet.

I mix up a kalk paste and inject them with a syringe and an 18 gauge needle. Do this with pumps off as if you hit them right they will spit some back out into the water column. I'll hit them all with a shot about an hour before water change then siphon out what I can during the change. usually only takes one or two shots to get them out for good!!

Where can I find syringe/18 gage needles for treating. I found small needles don`t work. Thanks

Maybe you could find large bore needles at a farm supply store. However, you probably are better off to use a pipette tip like comes with test kits.

I would sell them to the LFS or put on Craigslist. Use a razor to shave off the rock underneith. For the hole once you remove it you could also use some of that reef epoxy to fill it in so it doesn't grow back. What ever is left will die off. Too bad I don't live near you. I would take it off your hands.
