    Very sad news

Not sure where to put this... but it is very sad news....

    Frank Hoff passed away recently

Hodges Family Funeral Home - Memorials

Anyone involved in breeding, aquaculture, planton, or algae research will know him as a true poineer of the efforts. Frank worked alongside many other pioneers such as Terri Snell and Martin Moe. His works led him to a great deal of findings, and many of his publishings including the Plankton Culture Manual have become bibles to many of us. He has been a great influence and inspiration in many ways.

Leaving behind a very dedicated family as well as his company Florida Aqua Farms, Frank has left us all a very viable legacy to be honored, studied, and hopefully continued by many.

Words cant describe how much my life has been influenced by his works, and anyone who has come in contact with rotifers or brine shrimp should know that much of the common knowledge we speak of now... has spurred from Franks work. He will be sorely missed.

I hope that many of you can celebrate his life and dedication, through your own efforts and rememberance. I know that I will with every glimpse of my cultures and studies. Frank has left a lasting impression on my life and his efforts have not only informed, but encouraged me to continue on with this passion I call husbandry.

Frank, while you will be missed... do know that your life inspired and informed a great number of people, your family should be proud and do know that many of us are proud of you and your family as they are carrying on a legacy of true pioneering. Your focus and efforts in the face of adversity and hardship is a testament to how truly amazing a single human being can be!

I agree with Carmie, I will be praying for his family.

There is no elevator to success in marine tanks. You have to take the stairs.
