    Frustrated with Sicce PSK2500 pumps

I did my research when buying a skimmer, travelled the distance and paid the price so that I could have a skimmer that would do the job without headache. I have an ATB cone 840 and an ATI Bubblemaster 250 both with Sicce PSK2500 pumps. One pump I have already had to send back to the company for repair, in that repair they took my purple pinwheel and replaced it with a red one, not sure there is a difference but I know people rave about the purple ones, I should not have sent the pinwheel with the pump for repair. It has become a full time job keeping these pumps running, they quit for no reason and I have to take them apart and put them back together, give them a slap, swear a little, pray to the man upstairs and then 50% of the time they start again.

Please, if you have any advice re an upgrade in pump or tips and tricks, I would love to hear them.

OMG, I just Googled the ATB and for $650+ US$$ I’d expect a skimmer with a Mercedes engine not a Yugo piece of crap. The ATI Bubblemaster 250 is $800+ US. Holy Crapola that’s a lot of bucks for unfavorable performance. Maybe it’s just the pump but this is frustrating for sure. Not being familiar with either skimmer or the pump, did the pump come with the skimmers at those prices? Or were they bought separately?

I bought the ATB new for $750 Canadian and the ATI used for $500, when they work they are incredible but the pumps have stop start issues. If I have to shut the pumps off or the power goes out they start sometimes in reverse and sometimes the pumps on the ATI don't start at all, it's very frustrating to pay this kind of money for these problems.

I think I should hire V to represent my interests and slap someone because my prayers to Mr. Jenkins are not helping.

This is on top of dealing with ich, red slime, kh mag and calcium issues. I think I should trade my tanks in for a scuba suit and a plane ticket but with my luck I would probably be eaten by a shark.
