You amaze me every time...not trying to be a brown noser...but god damnit!! How is it possible to ....I guess in thirty years I will be like that...is this a rarer clownfish to come across? The thread you sent me was a match...I didn't think Clarkii hosted with Stichodactyla haddoni...it took him bout a half and hour before he was laying in the green carpet that I have. I have been trying to find him a fish for 8 mos. now.

Clarkiis and their cousins will host in and on anything. That is one of the reasons why they are pretty popular.

IDing clowns by photo only is very difficult and indeed subject to inaccuracy. Why? Because positive ID requires dorsal fin ray count, scale examination and further taxonomic study. Also, it is known that many species of clowns hybridize readily in the wild producing off spring whose color represents one species or the other, often looking like a totally new species. As a best guess, I’m going with A. clarkii based on pictures in Fautin and Allen’s great book, "Anemone Fishes” and conversations I’ve had with other clown “experts” on a mis identified mated pair of A. clarkii I found on line awhile ago that looks identical to your fish.

Speaking of “old as dirt”??? You young pups don’t have a clue about that!!! I’m still pumpin iron!!!
