Appears he might like to snack on caluerpa.
I gots me a crab!
I found him this morning in a tank that has no fish which I'm hoping to convince my husband we need to put an angler in. Hell, at this point what is one more tank (already have 4 others and it's up and running)! It would probably be the least expensive tank of them all.... no chiller....no MH.... Maybe if I just leave it up and add the angler, he won't even notice!
Sorry, back to the crab. Cute little bugger, would like to leave in my new angler tank. Here's a couple of shots I took of him the other night.
Anyone care to put a name to it?

It kind of looks like a teddy bear crab. But its a little different looking. He certainly looks cool thought.

There is no elevator to success in marine tanks. You have to take the stairs.

Thanks, too bad he's shy
i'm not so sure i'd leave that crab in a setup with sedentary fish...too easy a target for a hungry crab. altho in the case of an angler, it may simply end up as a snack. i recommend tossing it into a fuge.
as for eating macro, most crabs are opportunistic omnivores, and will eat anything they come across.
this fellow lives in the fuge of our split 40 gal:

Now THAT'S a cutie!!
I'm keeping my eye out for a nice wartskin angler (A. maculatus) for that tank.
That's what I am hoping to find. This is a 26g bowfront aquarium and it'll probably be the only thing in there since anything else would probably be eaten. Well, there will be some snails.
look's like a gorilla crab to me which is okay small but wait till he grow's

Quarantine quarantine quarantine your tank's will thank you and so will your corals u'll also avoid a lot of aggravation with pests, predators, or disease's that come on coral's or live rock or fish
Then maybe it's good that it's going to be an angler tank someday.
