devistating coral preditors

we've talked about these subjects heaps, but i realised we dont have much of a visual aid in one spot on the forums. it would be nice to kick this off with my own findings, but the first rolling credits goes to Blane Perun. please add your finding , experiences, pictures so we become more aware of the good & the down right nasty!

i was at my lfs last week when a customer came in complaining about a starfish that she has bought for a "good price" at another store that is known to sell things fast and cheap. turns out, the woman bought a crown of thorns labeled as reef star.

i would be pissed!
but this is an example of why we need to put the deposit down & research before we throw anything in! or better yet, research first, then stick to the stocking plan religiously

the problem is that too many hobbyist do not aprreciate or understand the value of a store's experience. many hobbyist end up buying from a store whose only ability is to find it fast, selling cheaper, and before it causes problems for them.

I purchased a frag set(zoos) online a couple years ago. then they all closed up and turned pale. I was pissed until I saw a couple of those nudis crawling over the frags. I removed the frags and freshwater dipped for 5 min. worked like a charm. also, the egg masses fell off and I havent seen them since. now I use reef dip and freshwater everytime for new purchases.
