Solaris 72" 250W 20K "G" series 4 sale

I received my 400W "H" series Solaris and decided to sell my 250W "G" series light.

This unit just went through PFO's refurbishment and comes with 3 new power supplies. It is in the box from the factory and I'm not going to open it because the box has seen better days and I don't want to weaken it any further. This unit comes with the balance of PFO's two year warranty. About 14 months remain on the warranty.

The 250W version is adequate for LPS, Softies of all kinds, clams to a depth of 24" and SPS that are elevated to within 6" of the top. Here's a picture of the fixture on my 135.

The unit is in excelent "used" condition. The MSRP for the Solaris 72" "G" series is $3344 plus shipping. We sold this unit for $3067 including shipping. The price is $2399 including shipping in the Continental US. I am firm on the price because that is a great deal and these things are in demand.

PayPal is the prefered method of payment. This unit is available for immediate shipment. Here is the link - refurbished-72

If you have questions you can call my toll free number - 888 745-0449 We welcome your inquiries. However the first one to click the PayPal link will be the lucky winner. The link will be disabled ASAP after a sale is registered to avoid any errors.

I will be putting this on other forums, too.

Who wants it???

Just wondering...How deep does pfo recommend keeping sps with the new H4 ?? What improvements have you seen over the G series ?

I don't think PFO makes any specific recommendations as to depth and SPS health/growth. What they do say is the H4 is good to a depth of 30". It's up to us hobbyists to experiment with various corals at different depths and be willing to move them up or down. In my experience most SPS corals do better in the top 12 to 14" range. Some, like Monty caps can be deeper. You have to experiment a little.

Improvements? The biggest improvement is reliability. PFO seems to have the "bugs" worked out of both the G and H series.

Until Aquaillumination's light actually comes out, no one can make anything but speculations. I try to avoid that situation. Wait and see, I guess.

I heard Sanjay's talk at SRC in Orlando a couple of weeks ago. He thinks LED lighting is the way of the future but thinks adequate LEDs are 5 to 10 years away from being able to replace MHs as the light source of choice. I disagree with him on the length of time. Sanjay is basing his theory on results he's seeing from his original PFO prototype 250W G series, a 24" model without a computer control. It's really basic.

The H4 series (400W) is real close to that goal. I know that PFO is not sitting on the H4 as their final version of LED lighting. LED lighting is in it's infancy and I can't imagine PFO not developing further improvements. When will they come out with the next version??? Your guess is as good as mine. Stay tuned, you will know as soon as I hear of any new version right here on TR.
