its a spaghetti worm IMO
+1 to Carmie, the males are smaller and brownish, not nearly as dangerous
they dont look all that bad, most seems to have some color still
My LFS runs those, with an assortment of bulb colors they make corals really pop
I use 5 t5s and can grow anything in the 75g from the top to bottom
if you have a mantis in your rocks it should be pretty obvious as they like to wack things making a loud poping sound. If you have a spearer it would be in the sand
This should be interesting...good luck
are you saying you have 8 t5s just to be clear? is that two 48" banks next to each other? If so I am amazed you spent to much on a light for a FOWLR, but good on ya if you do.
The t5s should allow...
If you use flickr you wont have a problem, or i never have. I just click each image, click show in all sizes or something like that then copy the link info. It will show up roughly the size you made...
if you have corals on your sand bed avoid the pistol shrimp, they will move and bury those corals. Also if your system has been running long I would stir parts of your sand bed before water changes...
here is a composite picture of a coral I took and edited with helicon focus

I use the JBJ ATO, it works great but you will need to super glue or epoxy the sensors on IMO. suction cups suck andi wont trust them with the ATO situation
I dont know, I will see if they still have them next time I stop by that store. they said they were not reef safe and they call just about anything reef safe.
were t5s crazy popular 2 years ago? if not, they are now! I am very happy with sps growth under mine. take a look at this thread if you are serious about aquaculture ricordia propagation in...
I dont want to volunteer Dick but I am sure some of us Floridians would be willing to ship your coral loots to you
depending on the size of the tank a tang will destroy the macro. I had it everywhere till i got a tank. Now it is just in small crevices where the tang cant or wont stick its head.
You probably...
what color foot do your turbos have? there are non reef safe snail. The red footed turbos are not reef safe.
I agree with Dick
in reference to flying the corals...
just overnight them to yourself via the mail
I have a 5 bulb on my 75 and can grow sps on the dsb
300gph is way to fast for a fuge IMO most ppl think 10x turn over is max for a fuge. after you have mud/sand/rock and macro in there the turn over would be really fast. the point of the fuge is...
i feed my corals light
LOL i should have known
many baby angels serve as cleaners when they are small
I bet he could meet you at MACNA to pick up the fish :P
if it is an algae, hard to tell 100% from the pic, pulling it out probably wouldn't hurt. If it is what i think it is my LFS has a nano cube full of it. I think they like the look. Its a different...
I was looking thought the web images and it looks like you might be getting an algae problem. but i will let other people chime in that have had that variety of algae
they are just sponges. very good to have, they filter crap out of the water.
The algae can be bad. If it gets out of control it could overtake your tank. just keep an eye on it
the fish dont really matter in the lighting equation.
The lights should be changed every year generally speaking. They color shift and dims and after a year it shifts to far and can cause...
The 5th pic down is an algae, the green stuff. the white stuff is a sponge.
the corals dont look to bad but if you have nitrates above 10 or so i would start doing water changes
here is a link to my blog within the new Blog blog system

This is not really an option, sadly. Using tap water will cause you giant head aches. It is well worth the 30-40c a gallon the LFS charges for RODI. If you cant afford that many super walmarts have a...
its very hard to say. Some coral can dry out between tides baking in tropical sun and be fine, others would die in minutes. It depends on what you have. Doing a water changes wouldnt hurt. If you...
you could put the pump in a small vented box and line the box with dynomat. it is used in vehicles to dampen vibration and sound.
you could always attend the birthday party with your son and meet the child at a central location for other play times, like the park or playground. If you meet the family for yourself you can form a...
are the blogs coming back? it seem like it could have some cool possibilities
I was reading the Q&A section...instead of member tank projects are we suppose to start a blog?
I have been away for a few months and cant figure out how to post on my member tank thread with the new forum look...it seems to be locked or something. Any ideas?
