My tap water tested at 224 PPM, my filtered water was at 14, not bad for a year and four months. So I changed out two of the canisters today, hopefully it'll be back down to zero now.
Looks good! Very sharp!

Our new Naso tang. His name is Gigantor!
Thanks Carmie
Still no sign of him or any others, so far. The apatasia are multiplying daily, and are starting to sting my prized single colony of Zoanthoids that have survived 5 others since I first added them. I...

I have found with Instant Ocean that I have to double the recommended amount to get to my 1.024- 1.026 target for salinity, and many prefer Reff Crystals, and then are now changing to other brand...
Hey bud I remember when you first started posting about the 10 gallon on the off shore driller a year or two ago... Your home tank looks amazing with the growth rate of the cup coral and the lack of...
I think it was the corpse of the crab its self fortunately. My clean up crew opened him up and on day three I think I could see fleshy parts inside of his shell. Yet I am still checking periodically...
Congratulations I just heard that the second mortgage on your new fish home was approved! he he he... congrats every thing is looking great! Keep up the good work bud! I'm feeling salty, thanks for...
You know that seahorses are lower temp around 70 degrees right? The rest of your reef is around 80 degrees... Great pics thanks for sharing! I love the large branching coral in the background! That...

Thanks for the tip! Now the hunt begins!
At our LMAS frag swap today I won a raffle and picked up a sunset montipora neon green, and two frags of green tip leather.
I found this nasty looking guy in the front of my tank tonight. I think its a molt of the exoskeleton. I remember seeing this small crab about the size of a dime when I put my live tatoka rock into...
Lookin good!
I agree Rostr02, it didn't work out as well as I wanted it to. I counted 10 new aptasia last night. Time for some new peppermint shrimps I guess.
Deffinety going to cure it first for a long time... I have kalwaser solution I could have used other than the jones juice yet when I saw three pop up right away I figured I had to act fast.
Am cooking aptaisa on one of my rocks at 450 degrees... Spotted two in my sump last month. One in my display last week. I sucked it out last night with a turkey baster. Then spotted another in my...

My apologies I wasn't really able to share much in pics. It was rather difficult to capture many pics in such water depth. I installed a digital thermometer a week ago and have found my tank to be 6...
The spots on the fish went away on there own after three days. He and the others are doing great! I went with 7 other LMAS members to the frag swap in Indianapolis IN.We had a great time. I picked up...
Me and a bunch of members from LMAS will be going to your swap. Can't wait!
Sorry to hear the calupera was giving you such a hard time. That is a great idea to take a sample from each rock and label it then test for phosphates. It sounds like allot of work, I'm proud of you...
I agree with what Ray said. Sorry I didn't post I just didn't have anything more to add to what was already said. Please keep posting.

Thank you. Yes I have a 30 gallon that's been up and running since Nov. of last year. I'm gonna wait a day or two and just observe before I jump the gun. As it would be very stressful on such a big...

Any ideas as to what this is? The yellow eyed purple tang began...
Very cool pics thanks for sharing!
Larger clams are easier to keep because they can grow there own food inside from photosynthesis. Like saxman said the smaller ones will require supplemental feedings from products like DT's...
I agree with the above we need to know more about your tank. What clams are you looking to get? I would read up allot on them as there are many ways to help you spot clams you may want to avoid, just...
I would check you ammonia daily and continue to feed the clowns as normal. Like Carmie said if you see a spike then you should check the sand bed under the rocks.
Ahh using city water, RODI water is a must if you want to avoid this stuff. Even then this just reduces the chance, I have still had a few out breaks even with using RO/DI. You said you recently...

Jeremy and Bobbie at the LMAS meeting today figured out my problem. That silica was leaching out of the phosphate remover that I was using from Kent Marine the white powdery stuff. They said I should...
Sorry V I meant no offense bud. That is great to know that they are so strict on the reef down there.
Yep I bought two clowns and ended up with three by accident. Day two one clown died, day three second clown died, day four third clown died... I am sure it was because of cyanide harvesting from the...
OK so it looks like I picked things up at 2-25-10. Since then there has been a night mare of brown diatoms or algae in the tank. I believe it is the "Italian Springs" Sea Veggies Green Seaweed...

I've been doing really good thanks V. College is going great going full time since last June. Looking forward to getting some more live stock added to the tank soon, and my new lights installed.
I added four new additions of fish to the tank two days ago from a local store Green Tree. I have added a yellow eyed purple tang that I can not get a shot of. A copper banded tang. and two wrasses....
