If there were any people left on this forum I would post my updates..
Funny you mention frogspawn I was actually looking to get a small frag for my tank along with some flowerpot coral. Any opinion on them? I talked to my lfs and they say they are having good success...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_lXPN4l8TIU Why Take pics when I can just document! First video of my reef yay..
It seems like palythoas are slower than zoas in terms of growth but those unidentified long polyp corals are growing all over the frag rock and the starting to grow along the rock its on! not much...
52295230 The rest of the images sorry everything looks washed out in blue I had my blues on and didnt really notice the colour shift on the camera
New pics I lied and got a chalice coral they are too pretty to pass up for a 10$ frag! Also got a small red bubble algae explosion so I got a monster emerald who seems docile and goes after the...
No new pics but I can take some more but there is not terribly much to see.. yet. I actually want to play a game with the community! You guys suggest a nice hardy coral (reasonably priced) for this...
SO now the LMB who I named Buddha has gotten nice and fat from bi-daily feedings of seaweed and the GSP relatives are starting to spread all over their rock I see new polyps daily! everything else is...
Im still here I pop in daily to check up on my biocube thread thats about it. Speaking of S Florida it was ever so slightly cold last night like 45 and thats our coldest day of the year LOL
I just got some seaweed and Spirulina algae tabs Im praying that he eats them but so far no interest! Its like watching a child eat you want them to eat because if they dont they are going to die...
not yet but good idea
Xenia have always been my favorite! Hopefully they grow nicely so far they seem to like the tank and Im getting some nice polyp expansion. One problem I am having is that my Lawnmower blenny is...
Thanks its good to be back
Im back with an update! My tank has been restored and I am now trying my hand at a lps and soft coral reef ONLY! No more attempts at sps as I dont have the equipment for sps. Here are some updates...
Nice! I could never do that for some reason crabs make me bug out when they touch me. This coming from a guy who plays with spiders. XD It looks like a cute hermit too and the tank is coming along...
As a side note... The forums seem a bit dead....
I feel your pain Salty. My nano looks like the black lagoon it no longer feels like an aquarium
Yea were working all the figures out. hes helping me finish up the build but it looks like im downsizing to 35g as there is no way in hell I can work a 90 out of my budget. sad times. Oh speaking of...
HEY! Nice to see you around Carmie! Im going for a nice build. I see alot of people with (in my blunt opinion) ugly tanks because of all that odd green and purple.... damn cant remember the word im...
Looks nice! The cool part about nanos is that you get to keep all kinds of odd ball sea creatures and corals that would die out or you would never see in big tanks!
So I calculated my savings for this project and it comes out to 1500$. Do you guys think thats enough or should I quit when im ahead?
Are you going to add substrate? In my experience nanos are high stress nightmares but if you can pull it off they are so beautiful. I think some LS would be nice to help with keeping nitrates down....
my first problem is what am I gonna use? Im sticking to high efficiency on this tank so that means leds vortech pumps super skimmers auto dosers (the list continues but I digress). Im trying to keep...
Hello Talking Reef some of you may know me from my Biocube thread (also known as the eternal nightmare thread). My name is Elazar and Im a Floridan reef prodigy. Im now starting my dream tank which...
Ye looks almost like a chocolate chip acro. but it may be a digi. has it coloured up at all?
Nano Update: The time has come... thats sounds too cheesy. anyway the nano has met its end something happened and everything died except that yellow goby because hes clearly the russians in WWII....
yea its a bit upsetting when a fish dies I dunno why that little yellow goby is still ok though he survives everything O.0! anyway in a few months the nano will be a Xenia aquarium and ill have a...
Nanos are a black hole in your wallet and a general nightmare for a beginner but being one of those newbies I understand the logic behind buying one. "lemme buy a nano cause its smaller and easy to...
Well Im on a small break so ill tell you guys the news. Basically my goby died and im not sure why but until the upgrade im not getting any more fish because I seem to kill them all. The rest of the...
Thanks mate I should have those light pictures soon I have been busy with my youtube channel and finals but once summer is here I will have some more time
Sorry for the wait here are a few pictures however I just acquired a pesky diamond goby and he sifts the sand so much that its constantly cloudy with sediment im not sure if he will adjust and quit...
The Hood is back on and I will be posting pictures soon. It looks really great and gives more light than the halides
I have the actual lights. A friend of mine is installing the leds into the old biocube hood so it fits nicely over the tank. I should have it installed by tuesday
Finally installing new led lighting! i will post pictures when its done

one last thing I want to add is that IM GOING TO MACNA 2011 WOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! hope to see you all there!
well the summer just slipped away and now im back in school. everything in the tank is going well my acro got red bugs but i sprayed calcium on it and it killed 90% of the leftover coral and all...
cool tree salty! do you feed them marine snow?
so after getting everything stable again and monitoring the tank daily, I decided to try sps again. I bought a yellow fuzzy acropora and after having it for 2 weeks with no problems i got a german...
yeah I used to have a few in my display but they were always killing my snails so now i only have them in the back of the tank. sometimes they get into the display (not sure how) but I check every...
it turns out it was my cardinal fish that died. and the cause was that the salinity shifted rapidly due to the lights and it was not used to it like my hawkfish so it died. this is just my theory but...
im a killer. i lost my hawkfish and two weeks ago i lost my firefish. i missed a feeding and then after that he would hardly eat and then eventually got too weak to eat and then died. and my hawkfish...
oh and one more detail i forgot is that it likes to eat the polyps and not the stems or the main body so if u r looking to see just in case check for ripped polyps. (but it may eat the actual stem...
unfortunately i was unable to find any pictures or links to it if i do come across a link in the future ill post it but for now ill just give a good description.
it was white and thin, see thru, it...
