Sample Corals

Here is a sample of some of the corals you may find on my site (some have already been sold). Some corals are marked with "WYSIWYG" and that is the actual coral you will be receiving. Other corals are frags and you will receive a portion of that colony.

A typical coral in my facility comes in and is checked for pests and is dipped in SeaChem Reef Dip. It then sits for a week and if it is healthy, it is then offered as a full colony on the site (with exception to some zoos and ricordea etc). If the coral is not healthy it is not offered until it meets my personal standards. If the coral does not sell as a full colony it is then broken into fragments so many people can get a piece of it.

Taking pictures is another part of my business. Many online sites "photoshop" their images to make them look like something they are not. When I take a picture I typically place it on a white plug and take 5 or 6 different pictures of the coral. I use the white plug to show that nothing has been unfairly altered. Sometimes my backgrounds have a purple hue because of the pink styrofoam board underneath the aquarium. Next, I crop and resize the coral. Occassionally I will desaturate the colors because the image turned out "too good."

Kacey, will you be attending the frag swap on Sunday in St. Paul? I also invite anyone living in the midwest to attend, we're expecting a huge turnout. There will be a raffle for frags, acrylic tanks, ca reactors, books etc. If you are interested PM me for directions.

I bought some corals from Jake at Razorcorals two weeks ago, and I have to tell you everything came very healthy, exactly as pictured. The prices were pretty good also. I had a little difficulty ordering but that may have been me.
Instantaneous e-mails corrected the problem, so they had great communication. I especially liked the way some items were attached to Styrofoam which kept them from getting damaged.
In general, a great experience so far, everything is very healthy.
Thanks Jake!
