Powerhead replacement

Hi there. After my recent episode of having the Rio 1700 I was using to mix up a batch of water burn up and ruin the water I have decided to replace the 2500's that I have on my return and protein skimmer. What do you suggest for reliability and durability. And, even more important, not fowling the tank should a pump go out. My return is going to have about 4.5' head.

i would look at a mag 7 or 9.5... those will give you comparable flow ratings.. and they are very well trusted pumps

and will handle a 4.5' head fine

I have 2 mags and they work good.
