Return Pump Suggestions?

Does anyone have a suggestion for a return pump for me? I'm pumping from the basement to my family room and into the 26 Gallon Bowfront. I'm guessing that there is going to be a 12-15' rise/head.

Also, ROB, you should ask Steven if he is willing to provide some of his papers on this subject. I read one that was particularly good entitled "Submersible Pump Comparisons - Efficiency and Price Assessments".

If Steven sees this post....what is your suggestion on a return pump? Again, a 75G sump in the basement, pumped 15' up and into a 26 Gallon Bowfront. It is a seahorse tank, so I don't need 10+ X flow.

Thanks to all!

Dave

a danner mag 9.5 for internal a gen x pcx30 , a little giant 2mdq-sc, a rainbow lifeguard 400HH for external pumps. anything in that area would work.

Yep.. The rise/head loss will be about 6' from the basement through the floor and another 5 foot to the return nozzles. In the end, I'll have a much quieter display tank in my family room, auto top off (I lose about 3/4 gallon a day and manually top off *sigh*), more water volume, a kicking refugium, and in case of pump failure, a 75 gallon 'catch basin' to ensure that I don't have any overflow.

The joy is, that this is a seahorse tank and I don't need up to 20X flow. A simple 5-7 time turnover is a good rate for this application. I'm thinking a Mag internal rather than an external pump since I have all the room in the world in the 75G sumpfugium.
