what kind and how many powwer heads 4 65gl reef, thinking of maxi-jets or seio what would be better?

I personally have about 4x 300pgh Marineland 1140 Penguin Powerheads that I have been satisfied with. They great great flow in my 29 gallong.

well it depends on what type of tank you are tryign to keep.
but the brief answer is..

at least 2 or 3 that total at least 15X your tank volume

so 65 gallons times 15 = 975
so you want you poweheads to add up to at least that

Ok, here is what I have in my 65. I have 2 Aqua Clear 70's and 2 Seio M1400's. That is way too much flow if they are runnuing continous. What I do is back the Seios down to about half the flow they can output. I leave one Seio running all of the time and the other alternates ON/Off every hour.

The other two powerheads alternate on and off in a random patern between 20 and 60 minutes.
