cooler build idea
ok kids, heres what i thinking about. i have and old zalman CPU liquid cooler ( ::: Zalman, leading the world of Quiet Computing Solutions ::: )
it holds 2.5L of liquid and is made out of anodized aluminum. my questions are as follows.
1. will my salty liquid eat this?
2. would it be worth it to attach a 2 foot tower cooler to my tank to cool it down occasionally.
3. am i over thinking this?
my tank is 14 gallons, MH lit (70W), generally it dosnt get too hot, as i have central air. but this would be an emergency thing. the cooling plate for the CPU is copper, but i wasnt going to use it, i was going to channel it direct through. the pump internally is a 5W aquarium pump, and all the connectors would be plastic. so my concern is the aluminum-saltwater reaction/poisoning.

I think the aluminum would corrode in saltwater. But maybe you could chill another container of fresh water and submerge it in the tank.

that may work. ill have to see about that.

i was going to but the pump failed so i kindof abandoned that whole idea. the house has central air, so its not a huge concern.
