Do not know if this is the correct place for this, however, here goes:
I started reefing in the early 90's, after a hurrican that wipe out everything, due to power losses, I got out of the hobby. I have recently came back to the hobby for about a year now.
There have been alot of changes over the years and alot of guess work seems to have been taken out. Somethings I would really like to hear about would be;
Lighting combination setup, T-5 with MH, MH and PC, etc.. Benefits of electronic ballast over magnetic.
Fuge information - setting one up, feeding a fuge, location, lighting times, placement to skimmer.
Sulfur reactors - something that really seems to be coming. I can remember when Sprung mentioned the fuge back in the day and it did not pop back up until the last few years as important.
ZeoVit - hear alot about this stuff from overseas, what is it, where to get it, the philosphy.
Starter SPS - Back in the day, SPS was something you pretty much did not do unless you where Steve Tyree. Mantaining them was one thing, getting them to grow was another. What some good starter SPS's, what do they look like.
Coral propogation - how to make frags. I done xenia and some leather, I am having a miserable time getting mushrooms too sticks. What are some tips and tricks to prograting corals.
First off, let me welcome you to our little community..
and thank you for the questions.
some of these things i have talked about in the past, and some are on for future shows.
here are the details

yes, loads of things have changed in the last few years, alot more knowledge, technology, but most of all the internet. i belive that has mad this hobby so much better.. (and worse at times)
i have covered coraline on a coupel of the past shows, check out the related forums, as shows related to each froum topic are listed in the first post

i have briefly discussed lighting, but i am working on a full series of episodes that will break down each component of lighting. sory, i know this is an important topic, but its big, and tends to be controversial. i am going to do somethign soon

i have not dont any shows on any reactos, but will add this to the list, i want to eventually cover Ca, nelson, PO4, and suflur reactors

i know of ZeoVit, but am not familiar with it enough to discuss it on a show. if interest is there, i can do some research, and possible get a show togehter in the future

this is another project i am working on. i am goign to be doign some how to docs and videos on coral frags.
mushrooms are usually easy, best to place the cuttings in a plastic bowl like container, with some substrate and ruble rock at the bottom, that will help protect them from the water current while they get a chance to recover and re attach.
again, some of these things i have discussed, and some i have not.. im not sure if you had specific questiosn or were making recommendations. all great recommendations though. if you had specific question, let me know, i will try to answer then now, so you dont have to wait till i do show on the topic.

I know that I have a ton of questions. What I really liked about your pod cast on the plate was you presented a problem, presented some options on fixing it, then fixed the issue.
I think too many times I hear reefer issues and someone else says to do this or that from information that they heard from someone else. I think giving good example of how a problem was resolved personally is a key in aswering questions.
One specific question I have is on the use of GAC. Namely, what are the pro and cons of using GAC passively oposed to using it in a chamber? In Sprungs first book he talk about using it passively, now I am hearing of other in the UK and some Americans using it in a reactor like a phosban reactor?
And if GAC is used, do you need to add additional suppliments like iodine that the GAC may pull out.
And lastly, how much and how long should GAC be replaced?
Excellent show 25, had me scared there for awhile when you said it was the last one!!
I think you answered all of my questions about GAC. I have decided to run some GAC in a phosban reactor and take you suggestions about half dosing iodine, I still have lots of softies.
Great work, now I will have to come up with some more questions.
Sent you a pm, we are the North American Importer/Distributor of ZEOvit. Let me know if you ever want to talk about ZEOvit, or want some information and I would be very glad to help you out.
