Hi Rob, thanks for another great podcast. The Nano 6025 question was actually for a 21G tank. 41G was the total water - including tank and sump. So what I was really asking was whether a Nano 6025 is going to be too much for a 21G tank?

It works out to be around 30x flow rate. I do have a mixed SPS, LPS and Softies, but wanting to go for more SPS and LPS.

Thanks! And I look forward to the next podcast.

The Tunze 6025 might be a bit much for a 21 gallon. as an alternative maybe look at the Hydor Koralia Nano which is rated at about 250 GPH. you could use 2 of these and probably be in a better situation and save some money
here is a link to a Talkingreef sponsor that sells them
Koralia Nano Powerhead 265GPH: Aquarium Equipment and Supplies - Aqua Buys
I think the Cultured Reef sells them too, but i could not find them on the site

Ok, thanks. I'll check this brand out. The problem with nano tanks is that we need a "small" footprint and the nano 6025 is not too big for out tanks so it doesn't look too out of place. If you know what I mean.

Cheers.

I missed being there on Sunday but Rob and Bobby, you guys did great!

I have a comment about changing salts. IMO if you have your parameters matched and do a 10% water change the difference in salt will be a pretty minor difference in your tank. Even a 20% water change would be a pretty small difference in your tank.

I have noticed that salt seems to change in potency not only from bucket to bucket but from the beginning to the end of the bucket. No matter the brand it seems to require more salt to equal the same SpG over time. I have always thought that even thought I keep the lid on the bucket and the bag tied up this was due to the salt absorbing moisture from the air.
