Great show as usual Rob and thank you Brian for taking the time. I was just asking myself yesterday how much it would be for a light meter. I was reading Eric Borneman's book, Aquarium Corals, in the chapter on husbandry where he writes, "Lux meters, in my opinion, are very important tools that should be implemented by those keeping corals. Since light is so important to their sucess, there should be no reason why an aquarist is not informed as to the levels of lights to which he/she is exposing corals." After reading this I wondered why in how many years I have not even considered this obvious suggestion. We measure
CA,
ALK, temp,
PH, and I could go on, but we as reefers rarely talk about our light readings and obviously because we don't have a meter. If these water tests are so key to the success of our corals, how have we missed their main food source in our own calculation in better husbandry.
Right on Eric, and right on Rob and Brian for putting on this show. I guess I was on the same page yesterday while reading.
