Distilled or RO?

Hiya,

So here's my confusion...I've read several places that R/O is the only way to go(so much so that I've considered purchasing an RO filter instead of making the trips to the LFS or other places.

But I heard in episode 3 that plain distilled water is sufficient.

Is there any advantage of RO over distilled or vice-versa?

Also, I was running low in my sump and needed some make up water so I stopped by Publix and picked up a few gallons of "Purified Water" that is listing itself as being "ozonated" and "de-ionized". Is that acceptable or do I need to stay strictly with distilled or RO water?

Who would have thought that water could be so confusing? (By the way..if I have "fancy fish"..do you think they would like Perrier? - JK

lol.. yes, distilled water is also highly pure, and would be sufficient, the reason most people use RO is because RO/DI water can be easily and affordably made in your own house.

he he he Perrier...
ur helping my Publix stock- I like u already

If ur tank is small, its not too costly to buy it from the store, but the more gallons you have to change, the more expensive it becomes.

Also, some stores sell RO water that you dispense yourself. This can be cheaper than buying it in gallon containers.
