affixing hoses

I put this in the "new to saltwater" forum since it's such a stupid question...

I setup an auto top off system using the JBJ ATO. This device has been such a great time saver.

I have the pickup hose in a bucket and the return above my tank (to make sure there is no siphon).

How do I affix the tube to the bottom of the bucket? I tried crazy glue, but it didn't stick. I was thinking of getting a suction cup meant for 1/4" air line and gluing that in place.

Any one have any experience with this?

When I used this sytem at work, I just rubber banded an empty snail shell to the tubing. anything similar would work just as well.

I solved this problem by going to the LFS and buying a 3/16" rigid tube about 36" long. Heated it up, carefully over the stove, and bent it. Then super glued the 1/4" water line into it and cut it to length. It looks like this...

Stays at the bottom of my 5 gallon jug of make-up water.

I just rubber banded a rock to the end of my hose.
