Your thermometer of choice

What is your thermometer of choice? Digital? Floating? Brand accuracy?

Trying to decide on one for my first tank...

Hey mickster, I use a dual stage Ranco temperature controller and a $10 Coralife digital thermometer.

Hey Carmie, how is the accuracy on the Coralife? I heard some folks having problems with them.

I have a few of the coral life. Mine vary within about 1.5 degrees F. Good enough for me and for 5 bucks. I think you need to spend more money to get something more accurate, but about a degree is good enough.

Well I've looked at a bunch and decided to go with the Coralife. About a degree is good enough for me as too NaClFinatic. Now on to purchasing my first tank.

dont know wether the coralife thermometer has a hi-low temperature alarm the one i use has and it saved my tank just a few days ago when my heater failed, well worth having a digital one with alarm imo
