Which Tank To Reef With?

Hello Peeps

I'm new to all this, but basically I'm looking to invest in the next few months on a new tank.

I have decided between 2 tanks which I need help with.

The first is a Red Sea Max and the second is an Aquareef 200.

I can find info on the rsm but nothing on the Aquareef 200, is it reliable etc. I must admit I am swaying more towards the Aquareef, but only because of the extra litreage. Any info, help and viewswould be much appreciated.

Thanks

Hi posa I don't have any experience with either of these but I want to say to TR.

We have a couple of members who have a Red Sea Max so I am sure that they will chime in here with their experience. Off the top of my head I can't think of anyone who has the Aquareef but maybe I am wrong.

Hey posa, welcome aboard bud. Glad to have more english on the site, makes for better jokes from me..lol

just so others are familur with your tank choices...

red sea max.

aqua one aquareef 200

Much of a muchness if you ask me, although aqua one product looks to have better filtration potential & ventilation than the other on face vaule.
I guess it comes down to which all in one suits your own preferences. but id still wait for anyone whom actually owns one or the other to elaborate on any strengths vs weakness

I have two friends that have Red Sea Max setups and they're very happy with them. I do believe one added an extra fan on the back of that slotted area on the top left of the photo above drawing out to keep the temps a bit lower. I think with the fan she's running at about 81 tops. I do know she's having great success and speaks highly of the system. I'll try to get more info from her.

I must admit I am swaying more towards the rsm and not the aquareef now, I've heard though of two problems on the rsm tank. first being microbubbles and the second being the temperature.

They have this tank already setup in my lfs and it does look very neat. I did also look at an aquamedic chromis but hanging the light on the ceiling is a bit much for me. I am very intersted in the extra fan to cool down the rsm as my bedroom tends to get very warm in the summer.

Thanks for your input and any more information about the rsm would be very much apreciated especially from sea in the city Orlando.

Thanks
