Lighting

I plan on starting a 55 gallon fowlr and adding corals maybe in a year or so. What is a good quality lighting for its price? all I know about lighting is metal halides and that I don't have the money. Also what do you need to keep anemone bc I would like to possibly have anemone dominated tank.

CarmieJo is on a distinguished road
I kept a BTA under PC's for over a year. Now I've upgraded to a Solaris but that is for my corals, not the anemone. I think that most other species will need MH. You need a mature tank & really good water quality for anemones.

What Carmie said. BTAs will do fine under PC lighting.

Agreed but if you plan on corals why not get a good light now.
Corallife and current both make a nice integrated system w halide pc and Moon lights.
Anemones do need some light but some come from deeper colder water so there is a wide variety to chose from here. Thats why so many choices are given. I had corn bubbles that moved to be under 250 w bulbs. and they were huge well over a foot in diameter !
