12in cube

Starting a 12in cube.Plan to add 8lb live rock with rubble in fuge.
Tanks holds 7.5 us/gallon/fuge .8us/gallon.
2x24w pc
1x119 uk/gl micro pump
1x119 uk/gl micro pump through fuge/filter

Wanted a small display tank(no fish),but hearing Rob talking about the Goby/shrimp pairing on a podcast.has led to me ask this question.

Are there any Goby/shrimp pairs i can keep in this small tank or will the bio load be too high?
Water changes will be 2gl per week (25%)

If so,how deep should the substrate be?

Thanks Gerry

bear in mind this will be a very challenging system to maintain.. (not recommended for newbies)
that said, i would use a few inches of sand for the goby. DSB's dont server much purpose in tanks this small, but the shrimp/goby combo will need a decent sand bed in there

Thanks Rob

Thanks for the quick reply & work you do running this great site(love the podcasts).
Complete newbie with reef tanks, kept FO for 15 years & have had a break for 2 years due to moving home.

Thinking on a 3in substrate but as you said this takes up a lot of the tank!

What other small fish would be acceptable in this small tank?

Gerry
