small questions

ok since i can not get a full tank up and runnging currently due to a pending move (4/5 mo)

I am thinkign on just getting a 10-15 gal and doign a dsb with a few good chunks of live rock, and having an basic invert tank.

my goal w/ the dsb and LR is that it is nearly self sufficient, where i only have to feed it and weekly water changes.

the only other things (i am thinking) would be a heater and a small power head.

thoughts?

Yup I agree. Don't *need* a skimmer. Don't *need* light.

i agree the skimmer probably wont be needed.
but some light will be needed IMO
basic NO or PC would be just fine though.

i say this be cause alot of the food chain and even the stuff in the DSB are photosynthetic.

you dont need "reef" lighting, but i would say a hood with some bulbs would be needed. and hey without it you cant see in the tank anyways.. lol

or a window?
some have tried that...be careful with overheating and such....but it can be done! Best natural light source around...er...the only light...never mind.

If you have fluorescent lights in your cube like I have, then that should be enuff- even the lights in the ceiling would be enuff, but it would be hard to see.

Your cube must be a whole lot bigger than mine! I don't think I could even find room for a beta bowl!

It's not that big, but I stay organized and try to keep stuff off the desktop. I'm sure I'll have a betta bowl soon!
