clowns, gobies (no mandarin), six line wrasse, blennies, firefish, etc. pretty much anything small that will not grow to big. there are all sorts of fish for a nano tank. really depends on what you like.

blennies like to jump, so just make sure you have a grating or a cover over the tank. I've lost two from jumping out! My mandarin as well!
I would recommend two clowns for a nano. they're usually hanging out in the host and enjoyable to watch, whereas many other small fish are darting/hiding all the time.
also a goby/pistol shrimp pair is a pretty cool combo to have in a nano
well my nano is very tall i dont know if that plays a factor in getitng the fish lol its not liek normal nano tanks its octagon in shape tall and not as wide.

for the octagon style tank, i would probably go with a couple of clown fish. maybe a couple of firefish also, but be sure to add them slowly. i would not introduce more than 2 at a time.

Well i do like them but my boyfriend likes them more which is why we choose them because he wanted them and now since this is my project i really want the tank to reflect what i like

awesome.. i think those fish have a really cool look and they have awesome colors not that i dont liek the clown fish i do i think they are really cute, but im jsut worried i might almost kill them again and i dont want to do that

once your tank is cycled ... clownfish are VERY hardy and will be fine in the tank. they are technically a damselfish if that tells you anything. BUT, you will need a better light if you want them to host in an anemone.
