nano or just dumb luck

I dont know weather it's second time is a charm or my bio-cube is the reason, but I have had great success the second time around with the bio-cube. Water params have held the same parameters since the 2nd week into the bio-cube experience. My sand bed that I have has been super clean after a couple of algea blooms from cycling. The fighting conk snail, I think thats what you call it maybe the reason for the perfect sandbed. When I had my 29gal. I had a constant promblem with cyno and now I am in to my 8th week and "knock on wood" I have yet to see any cyno. I am truly enjoying my saltwater tank and this hobby. I know I will have set backs trust my 29gal was a nightmare. With this tank I took my time and didnt rush anything and added zoanthids first and let the tank mature and the zoanthids are doing really well. I am not trying to toot my own horn but I am very happy, and I have been with this website for the whole time with both tanks. Thanks talkingreef for your help.

I think that this is your answer! Only bad things happen fast! I have read a lot about the coral first philosophy and I think the next tank I cycle will be done that way. Keep up with your water changes (I do 20% a week in my nano) and don't overload your tank. Could you post up some pictures for us?

Awesome. Glad to hear everything is going well this time around. I think Carmie has it right. Patience is really a virtue in this hobby. I'd love to see some pics too.

Hey, by the way, what did you use to take the pictures? They look great. I can't get my camera to focus on the things near the glass, and if I get far enough away to focus there is too much reflection of things in the room.

It's a nikon cool pics. 8.1 mega pixels. I go into macro mode on my camera, and that is usually represented by a flower symbol on most cameras. I also use a tri-pod although I don't think that is essential.

You can take some good pictures without a tripod but it is easier with one. Shooting at an angle to the glass will help reduce glare. If you can, put the camera on a tripod and turn the flash off.

You know I have a Canon 10D with a macro setting on it, but I can't seem to physically get it to focus on the closeups. I finally stuck the long lens on it and started zooming in from across the room. Will post some later. Maybe I am not getting something.
