Cloudy Water

I have a 14 Gallon Bio-Cube and am experiencing cloudy water immediately after complete water changes. As little as 2 -3 three days after a change, the water is completely cloudy. The tank has been running since the last week of June.

I have live rock, sand and about 20 small hermit crabs and a horseshoe crab in the tank currently. Algea growth is good and healthy. I am not sure how resolve this issue....Anybody have any suggestions???

Hi lateralis and to TR.

Here are some things that we need to know the answers to in order to answer your question. The first thing that we need to know is what are your tank parameters? Are you doing 100% water changes? Does the water ever clear?

I personally think that 20 hermit crabs, even small ones, are too many for a 14 gallon tank.

Thanks for your reply....I had a successful water change about 3 weeks ago........The water was crystal clear.....

After about a week, the water clouded up a little. I did a 10% change and that's when I started having problems with the water clouding up. I've done about 95% water change twice in t he past two weeks and have had no success in having the water clear even immediately after the water changes....

It's also way too small for a horseshoe crab.

Welcome to TR, lateralis.

I have to agree with Carmie and Phurst. Give us more details about the water parameters and your maintenance routine, ie, water changes, tests, additives you use and anything else you do whether you think it's significant or not. We need to know.
