What's your favorite nano-fish?

I plan on starting a nano soon, probably 25-35 gallons. I was wondering what is everyone's favorite nano-fish.

It would need to be full of life and not be dull because the number of fish is limited.

I like percula clownfish, sixline wrasses, and a firefish goby.

What nano tank fish do you like? Why do you like them?

i like the purple headed firefish. why ... because they have great colors and a great personality.

I had a perc in my 12 until my office lost power for a weekend. I'm once agian considering adding a goby/pistol shrim combo.

I also suggest the shrimp/goby combo. I personally never had good luck with firefishies.

I had a royal gramma once in a 10 gal with an A. ocellaris. They were hailarious together. Every once in a while, the ocellaris would swim right over the gramma and the gramma would rear back, open his mouth wide and flare his gills at the clown. But otherwise, they totally left each other alone.

I liked how the clown would wiggle around on top of the rocks and in front of the tank while the gramma would stick to one place and then cruise around the tank and then back to his little spot.

For the nano I'm thinking of putting together next, I'm also thinking about a pistol shrimp/goby partnership.

My favorite is a rather uncommon goby called Gobiodon Yashia.

Its a beautiful fish that makes a stunning addition to a any tank. But in a nano tank you wil be able to enjoy it a lot more than in a big reef tank.

Here are a couple more favorites for nano tanks.

Stonogobiops xanthorinica

The twinspot goby (Signigobius biocellatus)

The Gobiodon okinawae is also a great nano fish.
These are all fish I've had in a nano or in my main display.
I currently have the Gobiodon Yashia and a Criptcentrus cinctus.

Emora, I used to work at a LFS years ago and we used to sell those twin spot gobies, except we called them 4 wheel drive gobies! Or sometimes offroad gobies!

Those are great looking fish.

I would probably end up with a 6line if I had a nano. Because I think they are cool but I plan to keep mandarins in my 90g and shouldn;t have a 6line with them. Other than that I second the fire fish, especially a purple one.

I would think a nano would be a little small for a sixline, but I could be wrong. I see the recomended tank size for a royal gramma is like 30 gallons, but the one in my 120 is never far from his little hole in the rocks, so a nano may be fine as far as that goes.
