Aqua Pod question

Hey, I'm looking into getting the 24 gallon Aquapod w/ the 150 MH lights. What can you guys tell me about this setup?? Will this work w/out a chiller or are the lights going to be too hot?

any feedback would be appreciated

thanks

i'm getting ready to set up the 70W version in my office at work. based on what i know about the 150W 28 gal JBJ (our LFS has had one running for a few weeks) which runs at 79*F unchilled, i'd guess it's going to run right around 80*F, give or take.

the filter section is open, so there is a bit of evaporative cooling, and the fixture is raised above the coverglass, so there's good air circulation.

yes, they do...it extends all the way back to just at the fitration section. the thing i don't like about it is there is no hinge or handle to lift it. i think i'm going to either cut it and glue a couple of knobs on it or replace it with a split acrylic cover with a couple of knobs on it.
