Benefits of adding Tigger pods?

Other than beng fish food, what vital role do Tigger Pods play in my tank? I'm debating on adding a bottle if it would benefit the reef system as a whole and not just for fish food.

well...many corals will eat them as well. the tigger pods are pelagic and will eat water-borne algae spores and other phytoplankton.

i have heard mixed thoughts on them.. i have never used them personally, so i cant offer direct feedback.

i have however used OceanPods, and they have worked well. i used them to inoculate my new fuge and now im cultivating them in a tank

I went to the Western Marine conference and won a raffle and got 6 bottles. I talked to the pod lady at the conference and she said they were a cool water type and would not reproduce in your system. But they were great for a live feeding. Kinda of expensive food source.

That pod lady is wrong. I use them and have watched them reproduce.

Maybe the pods you got were different. These are large for pods. Called tiger pod. Very easy to see with the eye.
