Smile MH Lighting question for BC29

After doing some research I have found this light
CURRENT WHAT'S NEXT

It has the Actinic light that I like, however they are not T5 HO lights.
Is it posible to upgrade these as well as the ballast obviously... after the fact??
I want to adventually keep SPS and Monitpora's
Do you think this light will do the trick
Thanks for the info

Sorry I can't help you with your MH question but I wanted to reply to you about the sapphire aquatics skimmer on here because I don't want to take over the other guys thread.

Well I've had it in my biocube for a little over 4 days now and I'm very pleased with it. There were some microbubbles at first but I would say that at least 90% of them are gone. It produces some very good skimate....considering it's only been in there 4 days and my tank is only a little over a month old. Oh and nanotuners.com sell these skimmers as well and i think they have like at least 30 or so in stock.

Hope that helps!

here's a pic for ya!

Talking Thanks!!

Awesome!!!! itsme8719

I was hoping you would get back to me.. I have been to nanotuners and noticed that they do have a few. I'm glad you are pleased with it!! I have been contemplaiting getting it or the Tunze. I can't decide. I am going to go with the MH so it will be topless adventually.

I think your post makes it easier for me and I think I will be leaning towards the Saphire.

One Q??? Is the pump on there anything fancy or is easily replacable with a Maxijet or something. I had a closer look on one of the sites and it looked like there were two pipes coming off it??

Thanks so much for getting back to me
Pete

If I'm not mistaken the pump that comes with it is a rio 600. I suppose you could switch it out with a maxijet or something if it would fit into the hole on the side....not sure why you would want to though. If we are looking at the same thing the two pipes you are talking about are probably the airline tubing which puts the air through the pump to make the bubbles. I know most powerheads have the airline tubing going straight to the output nozzle thing....but for some reason this one connects to the pump and then another tube goes from the pump to the output nozzle thing. Sorry I don't know all the technical terms . I hope this makes sense to you.

Hey Megan,

Yeah that makes a lot of sense actually. I just wanted to know for down the road when the pump goes that I could easily replace it. As far as the airline tubbing, I was curious as to how it all came together so you pretty much cleared that up!! Thanks. It sounds like a good purchase to me I think I'm gonna go for it!!

Thanks again Rob and Megan!!

One more question while I still have you here.....

Do you think that 2 Tunze nano streams are too much current for a 29gal Nano??

Here are the specs

https://www.marinedepot.com/md_viewI...product=TZ1211

Rob: I can't remember what you said the turn over should be on the gal per hour but I will listen to that segment again...(thanks goodness I went for the big iPod to store them all.

Thanks again to you both. You have been a big help!

It's all about research in this hobby!

P.S Rob you should start selling iPods preloaded with all TalkingReef podcast and slap a TalkingReef sticker on there

Maybe next TOTM winner.....

Pete,

You want to turn over a minimum of 10 tanks/hour.

regarding the Tunze streams, the two might be a bit much for that tank..

you want to go for about 10x your tank per hour at the least for "low flow"
as you get up to "high flow" you want to be more around 20-25x tank per hour
