Electrical needs, requirements, safety...

Rob,
I have a few questions on power requirements & safety.
I've read horror stories on the forums about basement, garages & even the main parts of the house getting burned down due to a faulty or over loaded power strips & timers. Most houses I beleive are wired for 10amp loads. I have 7 attachments on my powerstrip & 2 of those are attached to a timer. Do you think it would be safe to divide the load into 2 power strips?

Thx,
John

Hi John,
Most houses are wired for a 15amp circuit. the problem I think you are thinking of is that the old days before power strips people would use regular extension cords and load the hell out of them which would cause them to overheat and bam, fire! A good power strip should be rated for a max amp load of 15 and it will cut out when it reaches past that. Hence the reset button on the side.
Hope this helps
