whats the live rock your using sorry if this is a newbie question but i love your layout and im still planning out how im doing my tank but i really love it
first, let me say this is my experience.....i am not recommending this method or any product....just sharing my experience
when i started, as i said in the first post, i ended up losing most of my fish to ich.....i had moved them to a hospital tank and that only made the situation worse....i had a mess on my hands....i was clueless
so, anyways.....i am not a huge fan of hospital tanks, after that experience and i tend not to QT....so, what do i do when faced with a sick fish
my first battle w/ ich left me 2 fish, my firefish......they were fine for a few weeks...so, i added 2 clowns to the tank....i lost one of the clowns withiin 2 days......he turned white, quit eating and died.....i still do not know what that was caused by......within the next 2 days, my girl, clover, began to show signs of being sick......she had white clumps on her face and head (not ich, large clumps)......i started using ick-attack in the tank......within a few days she was fine
moving on to now, months later:
i have the 110g....i am not QTing.....my little clown, crimson, has a mark on him....i do not believe it is related, but in case it is, here it is.....so, i move him to a hospital tank, thinking it is brook.....i now believe clover bit him......after a few days of observation and no other signs of illness, i move him back to the 110
2 days after that, i notice that clover has white dots on her.....from my previous experience, i believe it is ich....i had just added a new fish to the tank the previous thursday & it looked like ich......i wait a day and watch....it does not clear up....i also note spots on crimson
so, i begin to treat the tank w/ the ick-attack......instead of dosing once a day, i dose twice a day, 12 hrs apart.....i email kordon and asked about the skimmer......was told to turn it off for 1 hr after dosing.......i have left it off longer, sometimes 24 hrs at a time.......i also hooked up the UV, which i had been putting off.....and upped the vitamins at feedings
at this point, i am one week into the treatment and there is no sign ich anywhere to be seen.......all the fish are eating, active and look great....i will keep dosing for the next 4 or 5 days and watching for any signs of stress or illness
inverts:
no sign of ill effects to any inverts...that is corals (lps, sps, softie), crabs, snails, sea stars, shrimp, clams, sea fan.....no stress what-so-ever
i ws not sure about posting this, as the risk of flames....but we are here to share and hopefully learn along the way....so here it is
here is the link to product info for anyone interested
I was like when i heard about your dielemmha, when i had freshwater fish i never had any sort of disease in the tank lol and they only lasted a year they were platy
Well anywaz i read this i thought this will help that when adding a new fish i heard its good to leave it in a qting tank or a spare tank so if any signs of disease youll now you should leave it in a quantaring tank for about 2 weeks then move it to the main tank if no signs of disease and its fit and healthy.
i had never experienced HA or cyano......so, this time around, i was a little bothered by the fact that it was in my tank at all
i did all those things you are supposed to do....correct water, feeding, flow......so, why do i have HA & cyano?.....not bad, but enugh to make the tank look cruddy
i placed some phosban in the fuge, thinking that would help.....it didn't
so, i waited it out.....my thoughts were that as long as it wasn't out of control or getting to be problem for the corals, all should be fine
so, the tank has rid itself of almost all the HA & cyano....there are few tiny areas here and there, but over-all it is gone....and i am sure those spots will be gone in the next few days
maybe, you just can't rush mother nature......maybe the tank has to go through the ugly stages to get the pretty stages....i dunno

as of today, there appears to be no ich in the tank.....i had no fish loss and no ill effects to any coral that i can tell....everything appears to be thriving:-)

Reaching my 70th BD, I realize that I cannot help but grow old. However, I refuse to grow up!!! My wife would tell you, "He may be 70 but, He's going on 17". Life is wonderful with a woman like that.
thought i would update this....been fighting an algea issue, but otherwise everything is going pretty good...
had an issue w/ my cauliflower coral....it fell over onto the big brown polyps and got zappted prety good....ended up losing most of it, but was able to save a frag
not the greatest pic...but here it is:
