The rock is very cured for the most part.... not much of a cycle will happen. And yes there is lots of little critters- I've been adding bristles from the big tank just for fun!! he he..
I will have more pictures soon... should have the skimmer within a week and I'll get pics with that hooked up...
Also gotta get the lights too... will be returning the first lights that I ordered and buying a clip on light....
I got my first SPS Tuesday night by winning a raffle at the Atlanta Reef Club meeting- YAY!!! So that SPS will eventually go in the nano.
Stay tuned for more updates soon!!

great aquascaping, finally got to see the pics. I moved my rock around too just to have no more room for other goodies. Can you say, bigger tank! Good luck. that looks great. Do you have a theme by the way? Or just a smorgasbord of ocean in a glass. Either way good job.

Thanks Jeff- not sure what u mean by a theme, but I'm thinking of keeping SPS, zoas, and maybe LPS. I do want a goby for sure, but not sure about the goby/pistol shrimp.

The light fixture went to the P.O. yesterday to be returned and as soon as they credit me the 50 cents I'll have left, then I'll order the clip on light!!

I need to do a water change on this tank since I haven't done one yet!!

I used a Remora on my JBJ 12 Gallon when it was running and It was the Shizal MA Nizal! The nice thing is if you ever want to move to another large tank it can skim up to 75 gallons I believe. I moved mine to my 29 gallon and now I am thinking about getting a 45 gallon in place of the 29.

Very cool!! I did my homework before buying that skimmer and it seems to be the best hang on skimmer out there... they will be coming out with a nano version soon... it was in my marine depot catalog, did u hear about that?? I think I'd rather have the big one though....

well with the big one you have future room for growth if you ever decide to do a tank 75 or smaller. But if you buy the nano version, then you stuck just using it on a nano. The nano version is probably less money. I tell ya once I put HOT refugium on my 29 gal, the small red hair algee went away within days.

I am so sold on refugiums. It is the small CPR version. CRP also sells a cool refugium with a skimmer built in, that is the way I would go. Save some moola that way. Check it out.

gwen, hows the nano going? I decided to pull my JBJ back out of storage and put it back up this week. I picked up a prizm pro skimmer for $50 bucks (i know they suck but for $50 you can't pass it up) and threw it on there. Then ordered some sweet LR off ebay, 15#'s. I am letting it cycle right now.

no more pics yet... Since I added some sand from another reefers tank last weekend- I had to run it through a strainer to get all the bigger pieces of sand out and I did that today. The rockwork is all messed up though and the tank is a sandstorm so I'm not able to redo the rockwork yet.

The skimmer has been running one week now and hasn't made any skimmate, but hopefully it will soon.

I should get the credit back for the lights I returned, and I will order the clip on light soon *maybe tonite*. I'm debating whether or not to go ahead and buy a 10000K bulb since the light comes with the 20000K.

Personally I like the blue light. I have the dual 65W 10000K/6700K and dual 65 W Actinic PC's from Current USA and I'm always wishing it was more blue. But the corals seem to like it.

I do love the blue too, however 10000K is best for coral growth so it's a hard choice.

i ran my remora on my 12 gallon jbj nano and it really never produced much skimate. i was surprised when i put it on my 29 gallon how much more skimmate was produced. i put a prizm on my 12 gallon last weekend when i set the 12 gallon back up. it produces alot more skimmate, but you have to tweek the prizm, while the remora really did not need any adjusting.

I am still waiting for the credit from Aquatraders- just hope they do it soon. I just sent them another email because they said they would have it done in 5 business days and its been more than that and no credit yet.

I ordered the 20" sunpod 150w 14K light. The clip on light was on backorder and would take a long time to get in. So I went with these lights instead.

They should be here by Friday
